Bath & North East Somerset Council - Sustainable Transport

Sustainable Transport

What is sustainable transport?
  • The term 'sustainable transport' is used to describe methods of travelling such as walking, cycling, using public transport and car share, which have less of an impact upon the environment than using a single occupancy car.
  • Sustainable transport also attempts to make a positive contribution to the environmental, social and economic sustainability of the communities they serve.
How can I find out more?
  • Please refer to the Travel Well Live Well pages for information on this subject, for information about alternative ways to travel and details about upcoming events encouraging the use of sustainable forms of travel.
  • The Travel Well, Live Well leaflet is available in the top right hand of this page under the 'related documents' area and from Council offices, libraries and health centres throughout Bath and North East Somerset.
