How are we doing?

Please see our online survey

The Council is committed to keeping our neighbourhoods clean.

From on-the-spot fines for people dropping cigarette butts, and tougher action against fly-tippers, to investing in state-of-the-art street cleaning equipment, we take our responsibility seriously.

But we can’t do it alone: we need you to dispose of your rubbish responsibly.

We also need your help to catch people who break the rules. After all, the cost of cleaning up after them falls to you and other taxpayers.

The following pages will tell you what we’re doing, what you can do to help and how to report offences.

More information

The Council has a legal duty to enforce the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005  http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/quality/local/legislation/cnea/

which gives us powers to tackle poor environmental quality and anti-social behaviour.
