Report a vandalised vehicle
Car Clear Hotline 0800 0835 115
Abandoning a vehicle is a form of fly-tipping and is an offence under the Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act. It can result in a £200 fine.
Apart from littering our neighbourhoods, abandoned vehicles can be vulnerable to vandalism and arson, posing a risk to residents’ safety and a danger to the surrounding environment.
The cost of dealing with abandoned vehicles falls to the taxpayer.
A suspected abandoned vehicle

A vehicle without a valid tax disc

However, a vehicle with no tax disc is not necessarily abandoned and we have no power to remove them.

- We run a collection service for old vehicles, which costs £80. Your vehicle log -book and proof of identity is required. Call 01225 39 40 41 for more details.
