Frequently Asked Questions

Park and Ride

I want to use Park & Ride – what’s available?

There are three Park & Ride sites within Bath & North East Somerset operated by this Council.

All sites operate from 6.15am to 8.30pm Mondays to Saturdays (not Bank Holidays) but are closed on Sundays. Please note that Service 42 from Odd Down to RUH does not operate on Saturdays.

Buses run every 12 – 15 minutes and are wheelchair accessible.

Can I take animals on the buses?

The carriage of animals on the park & ride services is governed by the Conditions of Carriage of the operator. These are published at:

www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/bristol_bath/assets/pdfs/about_us/cod.pdf

All buses are required to permit users with assistance dogs to use the services.  In all other cases the carriage of animals is entirely at the discretion of the driver.

Do any of the services travel to locations other than Bath City Centre?

Bath & North East Somerset and the Royal United Hospital (RUH) launched a Service in June 2003 which utilises the Odd Down Park and Ride side to provide a quick and easy, cost effective service to the hospital.

What time are the gates locked at the Park & Ride sites?

Due to 'Alligator Teeth' having now been installed at both the Lansdown and Odd Down sites, the exits to all three Park & Ride sites remain unlocked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, we advise owners to remove their vehicles from the site by 9pm -please see advice below.

Can I leave my car at one of the Park & Ride sites overnight?

We do not recommend that you leave your vehicle overnight at any of the Park & Ride sites. The sites are not patrolled at night, and you leave your vehicle there at entirely your own risk.

Some of the Park & Ride sites have height restrictions - please see the Bath City Centre Services page for details.
