The Consultation process is now closed.
Bath
and North East Somerset Council has been consulting the public on the proposal to implement a two way traffic flow along a short section of the A36 Rossiter Road. The main objective of the project would be to divert “through” traffic, including HGV’s, away from Widcombe Parade, thereby improving the environment within Widcombe village. Full details of the proposals can be found in the Proposals PDF, under Related Documents on the right of this page.
The Council hosted a public exhibition at Widcombe Church of England Junior School, Pulteney Road. The Exhibition was held on Friday 25th February between 1400 and 2000 hours, and again on Saturday 26th February between the hours of 1100 and 1700. Approximately 350 members of the public attended the exhibition, and over 100 documents (completed questionnaires and comments sheets) were left in the collection box. The Council would like to thank all members of the public who attended the exhibition.
Council Officers were available at the exhibition to answer questions about the possible changes to Rossiter Road and the Widcombe area. Plans and traffic flow modelling demonstrations were also available for information.
A list of the possible effects the changes may have upon traffic and the general environment around Widcombe village can be found under Related Documents.
The plans, also under Related Documents, show the highway changes which would be needed should this scheme be approved for construction.
Numerous responses have been received regarding the proposals, and these will now be collated in preparation for the consultation report.
The Council would like to thank all members of the public who forwarded their views and / or their completed questionnaires either via mail or email.
