Bath and North East Somerset Council’s existing Park and Ride sites at Lansdown, Newbridge, and Odd Down have spaces for 1,990 cars. Park and Ride users not only help reduce congestion but also save money on parking costs. However, much of the time these sites are full by midday meaning motorists having to travel into the city centre to find somewhere to park.
Significant Expansion
Bath and North East Somerset Council’s proposals involve significantly expanding Lansdown and Newbridge, and the third site at Odd Down. In addition it will build an extra facility – the A4 East of Bath Park and Ride.
Over 2,500 extra Park and Ride spaces will be created bringing the overall total to 4,510 spaces – this represents a significant reduction in the number of cars travelling into Bath and clogging-up the roads.

Benefits for the whole community
Workers and visitors from outside Bath, including in our own communities of Keynsham, Midsomer Norton and Radstock, and the rural villages, will have better access to their jobs and local services.
This will support the place the community wants Bath to be – one where the congestion is reduced and pedestrian and cycling access is improved, with space for public transport to move.
