Tunnel tours
Go behind the scenes to discover the hidden Roman, Georgian and Victorian history of the site.

Major Davis tours
Adults £18, including Roman Baths entrance; children (aged 11 and over) £12. Discovery Card Holders: adults £8 and children (aged 11 and over) £4.
The tours bring back to life Major Charles Davis, the City Architect and Surveyor of Works who originally discovered and uncovered the Roman Baths in the late 19th century.  The tour begins in the Pump Room and takes in buildings adjacent to the Roman Baths, as the full extend of the Major's achievements unfold.
Tours meet at 5.45pm in the King's Lounge (entry via Stall Street entrance to the Pump Room) and start at 6.00pm.  Book on 01225 477773.

Roman Baths by Torchlight - Join us for a musical tour through history.  Enjoy music on an ancient lyre, medieval hurdy gurdy music and modern jazz.  Last entry 8.00pm.
 
 

Adult Learners' Week 2013

Tuesday 21 May
St John's Store - visitors will discover how Victorians bathed.  Bathing equipment and visitor books provide an insight to spa culture in Bath.  Also located in the store is furniture made by local craftsmen. 
St John's Store is located on the corner of Locksbrook Road and Upper Bristol Road, next to the Volkswagen dealership.

Saturday 25 May
Pixash Store - see some of the stonework from the Medieval Abbey that was located in Keynsham as well as the Roman Mosaics from a villa discovered on Durley Hill.  Also on display are archaeological finds from the Combe Down Stone Mines which include: tools, blocks of stone, and graffiti that the miners drew.
Pixash Store is located next to the Recycling Center on Pixash Lane.
Open 11am-3pm
 
Entry is free to visitors of all ages to inspire people to discover how learning can change their lives.  No booking is required

Archaeology and History Day Schools

Explore the Roman Baths and other relevant locations with expert and friendly tutors from the Roman Baths and Bath Spa University.  Investigate objects from the Roman Baths' collections and this historic site.

 

Saturday 18 May, 10-4pm

Bath: Georgian City to World Heritage Site - Explore cultural, social and architectural history of Georgian Bath by engaging with the city's 18th century collections, archaeological and archival evidence.  How does this legacy feed into the city's role as a World Heritage Site?

 

Saturday 9 November, 10-4pm

Roman Artefacts: Metal and Glass -  Investigate the Roman Baths' collection of metal and glass artefacts and how they bring to life the social history of the people and buildings of Aquae Sulis.

 

Participation - £50 per person per Day School or £120 for all three.  Holders of Resident's Discovery Cards get a concessionary price of £40 per Day School or £100 for all three.
