NOTICE is given that the Bath and North East Somerset Council proposes to make an order under provisions contained in  Section 63 of the Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1976, the effect of which will be to TEMPORARILY introduce the following variations to restrictions in Orange Grove, Bath:-

  1. To reduce the current Taxi Parking Bay on the southern side of Orange Grove by a distance of 20 metres in a south westerly direction from the Abbey reducing the provision for  7 cars to park to a length allowing 3 cars to park. The 4 spaces removed will be re-located to the other side of Orange Grove leading into Grand Parade.

Full details of the proposal together with a map and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the temporary change to the existing Taxi Bay may be inspected at The One Stop Shops at Manvers Street, Bath and at Keynsham Civic Centre, Market Walk, Keynsham during normal office hours.

This order is required due to works which are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road consequent upon repair works to the Bath Abbey and would be operative from the end of January 2018 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the restrictions may not be effected for the whole of the period but it is anticipated that the road will be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessary to execute the works.

Objections and representations with respect to the proposal, together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent by 30th November 2017 either in writing to the Traffic Management Team at the address below, or by email to  Please quote the reference: 17-022 ORANGE GROVE. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it, could become available for public inspection.
