Route 60+ to help keep you driving safer for longer
“It is not the end of the road for Older Drivers”
Following the success of the 2015 Route 60+ event, Bath and North East Somerset Council are working once again with Bath and North East Somerset Driving Association and Somerset Council to improve road safety.
The Route 60+ event is aimed at older drivers and provides the opportunity to help drivers regain confidence, refresh skills and overcome specific problems they may have.
Bath and North East Somerset Driving Association will be providing subsidised refresher driving lessons. There is a limited number of the one hour refresher driving courses available and they will be booked with an Advanced Driving Instructor on a first come first served basis. The first 40 residents of Bath and North East Somerset to sign up to the refresher course will be offered this opportunity for just £10.00.
The Route 60+ event will cover issues such as driving licences, changes in the Highway Code, effects of medication, safer driving at night and advice on vehicle improvements.
Cabinet member Councillor Mark Shelford said, “with some expert help, most senior drivers will find that motoring can be a safe and enjoyable part of their lives for many years to come”
The one day presentation is being held on Thursday 2nd November at 10.30 am and 1.30 pm at The Community Space, Keynsham Library.
