In late 2014 we held a public consultation about providing a new skate park at Alice Park.

We received 282 responses with 2:1 responses in favour of the skate park.
A copy of the consultation report can be found here.

However before it could move forward work had to be done to establish a new governing structure for the Alice Park Trust.

This has taken another step forward, following a meeting of Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Charitable Trust Board.

The Charitable Trust Board met on Friday 10 June, 2016 and agreed to the formation of the Alice Park Trust sub-committee which will oversee the management and improvement of Alice Park – such as considering the proposal for a new skate park.

The Trust’s sub-committee will include elected councillors Cllr Martin Veal, Cllr Michael Norton and Cllr Rob Appleyard. Cllr Lin Patterson has a non-voting place on the sub-committee in her capacity as ward member.  Two independent members will also be recruited to join the sub-committee – further details of how to apply for these positions will be published in due course.

Cllr Martin Veal (Conservative, Bathavon North), Chairman of the Council’s Charitable Trust Board and Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “We’re very pleased to support the establishment of the Alice Park Trust and the sub-committee. We look forward to advertising the independent places on the sub-committee soon and we welcome applications from anyone who is keen to work with us on delivering future improvements for Alice Park.”
