Bath & North East Somerset Council has limited resources with which to support the arts in the district. However, there are many other sources of funding for arts events and activities. Many non-arts funders will also consider funding arts activity that has clear social outcomes and benefits.

Local and Regional Arts Funders

The following organisations, trusts and foundations have  generously given their support to arts activities in Bath and North East Somerset. Unless otherwise stated they do not have their own websites.

Theatre Royal Bath, Creative Fund

The Theatre Royal Bath  has established the Creative Fund which aims to enrich local cultural activity by awarding funds to innovative creative projects taking place within a 20 mile radius of the Theatre Royal Bath.

The Creative Fund aims to support all of the ‘arts’ - so as well as theatre based projects we will consider grants for projects incorporating dance, music, comedy, literature, sculpture, painting, poetry, street performance and the visual arts.

The fund is open to registered charities, not-for-profit voluntary and/or community organisations, universities, schools, colleges and community interest companies. If you are involved with an independent arts project, unconnected to the Theatre Royal Bath, and a member of a constituted group, you are eligible to apply.

The application window for projects taking place in 2017 will run from Monday 4th July 2016 until the deadline of 5pm on Friday 14th October 2016.
