Training Programme

The Training brochure is sent out to all schools annually for the purpose of providing you with information about finance training offered by the Schools Finance Support Team. This annual programme is to assist you and your staff when planning staff development and training needs.

The brochure has been designed as a document you can refer to throughout the year. We will send supplementary information and reminders on a termly basis. We hope you find the brochure useful and look forward to seeing you at some of the training sessions being held during this year.

How to Purchase Finance Training Courses:

Training courses are available for Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers, Governors, Finance and Administrative Staff. Up to two people may attend per school.  Training courses will generally take place at the Civic Centre, Keynsham using a suite of SFS training laptops. It may be possible to vary the venue to suit the course and attendees.

Other Training:

It may be possible to arrange training on a one to one basis at the Civic, Keynsham or at the school premises/other venue.  Please contact, Wendy Fry to discuss your requirements.

How to book a place on a scheduled course

In order to administer training effectively, we ask all participants to formally book a place on a course. We can then ensure that any changes/cancellation of events are notified to attendees as soon as possible. All training courses need to be booked on the Hub.  If you have any problems booking via the Hub please contact us  by emailing us at the address on the left of the page.

Confirmation of booking

You will receive confirmation of your place on the course within one week of our receiving your application.

You will receive confirmation of course details two weeks prior to the date of the course.

Book Early to Avoid Disappointment

We will be unable to run courses where there are insufficient applicants to cover our costs.

Courses which have not received the minimum number of applications will be cancelled. Applicants will be notified no later than two weeks prior to the date of the course and where appropriate, an alternative date will be offered.

Waiting lists

Where we have a high demand for a particular course, we will endeavour to arrange an additional course where possible.

Alternatively we will hold unsuccessful applicants on a priority waiting list.

Cancellation

We would ask all applicants to give as much notice as possible if cancelling a confirmed place on a course. If a place is cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, we reserve the right to charge the full cost of the course.
