Service Standards 2017/18

-The School Finance Support Team aims to effectively and efficiently carry out the support services that schools have purchased under their Service Level Agreements. 

How will we achieve this?

A School Visit report is completed by the School Finance Officer and signed off by the school at the end of every school visit. The report records details of the work carried out by the School Finance Officer and the time spent at the school. A copy of the report is held by the school for future reference. The SFS Team use a database to record information about School Visits, Helpline calls from schools and work carried out by School Finance Officers at Riverside on behalf of schools. This information is used to analyse SFS Team support services to schools and is an aide to improving finance services to schools.

Details of SLAs

-The helpline service will continue to be available from 9.00 – 16.30 from Monday -Thursday and 9.00- 16.00 on Fridays where resources allow. Where all of the SFS Team have duties away from the Civic Cente office, messages can be left on the SFS team answerphone. All messages will be answered as soon as possible but at the latest by the midday of the following working day.

How will we achieve this?

All calls are answered immediately where possible. If this is not possible, a member of the SFS team will contact the school as soon as possible and by mid-day of the following working at the latest. Helpline calls and responses are monitored on the SFS team database.

-Schools can contact their School Finance Officers by email or mobile phone. 

How will we achieve this?

Mobile phone messages are responded to as soon as possible but at the latest by the end of the next working day. Email messages are responded to within one working week. This timescale is due to the nature of the School Finance Officers’ work as they are often working at schools and therefore do not have access to their emails on a daily basis.

-The SFS Team liaise with Capita on behalf of schools to correct operational errors and to develop SIMS FMS functions.

How will we achieve this?

The SFS team monitor changes to SIMS FMS functionality in order to update the SFS SIMS FMS Finance Manual and to keep schools up to date with changes by means of correspondence, training courses and school visits.

-The SFS team develops and delivers finance training that is relevant to schools needs.

How will we achieve this?

Training courses are developed and updated as SIMS FMS functions are improved. SFS training course Evaluation forms are analysed to ensure that schools are satisfied with the training service and any comments are taken on board and acted upon where possible.
