If your child was born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015 he/she is able to start school in September 2019

 

 

From 12 September 2018 up to 15 January 2019 you can register and apply for a Reception place online via the admissions online website.

Click here to Access our Admissions Online website - Please remember that you need to live in Bath and North East Somerset to use this online facility unless you are living abroad.  Visas may be requested in appropriate cases where the child is a Non-EAA resident.

If you are a resident of Bath and North East Somerset you can also apply by completing a paper Reception Application Form which you can return by post or email.  The Reception Application Form can be downloaded and printed from the link on this page and will be available from 12 September 2018.  Alternatively you can also telephone 01225 394312 if you would prefer a form to be sent out to you.

Applications must be made to the Local Authority in which you live even if you want to be considered for a place at a school situated within a different Local Authority area.

In order that your child can be considered for entry to school during the school year 2019/2012, you must submit your application by 15th January 2019. You may have received a transfer letter advising you of the application process if your child's details are held on our database.  Please be aware that where we have had no recent updates to a child's record, we reserve the right to check other systems including Council Tax records to confirm the current address.

We produce a Primary Information Booklet for parents which can be viewed from the link on this page from 12 September 2018. Please note that we no longer print hard copies of this booklet. The booklet contains essential information on how to make an application along with a number of useful contact points should you need further information. In deciding which schools you wish to give as your preferences, please read the admissions criteria for each school. This will tell you which category your application would be considered under if the school were to be oversubscribed.

One section of the booklet explains how places at all the schools within the Authority have been allocated over the past 3 years. This may help you to decide what chance you have of gaining a place should you apply.

Please remember that if you are making a paper application you must still return your completed application form by 15 January 2019 for your child to be considered for a Reception place.
