In Bath and North East Somerset there are a number of Residents' Associations and community groups representing specific area interests. These groups may be formed because residents are concerned about a particular issue, or simply because they want to improve community spirit and make their neighbourhoods a better place to live. By coming together as a group and acting with a single voice, that voice becomes stronger.
The Council and its partner organisations recognise the value of these groups in highlighting issues, making decisions and playing a role in shaping the future of the community. Visit the Volunteer and Community Groups page to learn more about starting a new organisation, funding and other helpful information.
Contact details and websites for many local groups can be found on this page and more will be added in due course. Interested parties can also contact the Community Engagement Team for more information by email to connecting_communities@bathnes.gov.uk

Curo Residents' Associations
As part of its commitment to sustainable communities, Curo is keen to establish and support resident-led groups in its estates. Where residents are also keen for this to happen, they will help to recruit and set up these groups with suitable terms of reference and governance. Visit their website for further information.
Parish Council Contact Details
Parish Councils (also known as local councils) are the first tier of local government in the UK. They serve electorates, are independently elected and raise their own precept (a form of council tax) to provide services to their local communities and often represent local views in consultations. A Parish Council may also be known as a ‘town’, ‘community’, ‘village’ or ‘neighbourhood’ council. Within the Bath and North East Somerset area there are 51 parishes (including 3 parish meetings). The City of Bath is not parished.
