An Introduction to the B&NES Health and Wellbeing Board
Our Health and Wellbeing Board is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of local communities and reducing inequalities across Bath and North East Somerset.
We have a track record of working well with our local health and social care partners and listening to the needs of local people to provide ‘joined-up’ community care.
We want to build on these successes through strengthening our joint working with those who provide our local health and social services (including hospitals, residential care homes and GP surgeries). Our aim is to ensure the delivery of quality standards of care and support that are needed most by our local people. We also want to ensure that local people can have their say on what matters to them and that they can choose and access the care that they want.
The B&NES Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy is the overarching plan for improving health and wellbeing and reducing health inequalities in the area.
Through this strategy, the Health and Wellbeing Board will lead a joined up approach that supports and protects people’s health and wellbeing. Its focus is on encouraging people to stay healthy, improving the quality of people’s lives and on making sure that everyone has a fair chance of living well.
The strategy was developed based on grounded evidence collected through the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment.
