Community Recreation Sports Grant
'' This fund has been created to support local communities in B&NES to provide more opportunities for sport and physical activity.
In 2014 Cabinet agreed the ''Fit for Life'' Strategy:
The strategy set out aims and key actions to support the continued development of Physical Activity within Bath and North East Somerset up to 2019 and links to the Health and Wellbeing Strategy which recognises the significant benefits that physical activity can deliver. Fit for Life builds on that work looking to provide preventative measures to improve the future health of our population.
The strategy also demonstrates the contribution sport and physical activity can make to the economy of Bath and North East Somerset, how they contribute to a sense of place and community through bringing people together and reducing social isolation in addition to contributing to creating a sustainable environment.
Physical activity rates in Bath and North Somerset show a mixed picture (see Joint Strategic Needs Assessment: http://www.bathnes.gov.uk/services/your-council-and-democracy/local-research-and-statistics/wiki/physical-activity).The overall message is that being inactive is bad for our health and that more of us need to become more active. This non-recurring fund seeks to support local communities in delivering more local opportunities for sport and physical activity.
We look forward to receiving your application''
