Air Quality Action Plan
The Saltford Air Quality Action Plan was adopted in July 2016. It details the state of air quality in Saltford; identifies the sources (by vehicle type) and identifies a number of measures that will help reduce air pollution.
The action plan was developed in collaboration with a number of teams within the council and the Saltford public through a consultation in 2015. The council publish annual updates to the plan in June of each year, as part of the Annual Status Report (contains monitoring data and is sent to the Department for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs).
It is expected that a new plan will be developed in 2021 in order to account for the changing circumstances in relation to vehicle emissions and levels of pollution.
Air Quality Management Area
The average nitrogen dioxide concentration at The Crown diffusion tube location on the Bath Road exceeded the annual average Air Quality Objective for nitrogen dioxide. As a result, Bath and North East Somerset Council declared an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) in 2013.
The area is shown in red on the map.
