Keynsham Air Quality Management Area

We have been monitoring air quality in Keynsham since 2002.  Exceedances of the annual average objective for Nitrogen Dioxide concentrations were recorded, and as a result an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) was declared in July 2010. The area is shown in red on the map below.

Keynsham Air Quality Action Plan

The Keynsham Air Quality Action Plan was adopted in July 2016. It details air quality in Keynsham; identifies the sources (by vehicle type) and identifies a number of measures that will help reduce air pollution.

The action plan was developed in collaboration with a number of teams within the council and the Keynsham public through a consultation in 2015.

It is expected that a new plan will be developed in 2021 in order to account for the changing circumstances in relation to vehicle emissions and levels of pollution.
