You will need to apply for a House to House Collection Permit if you want to:

  • go door to door collecting money for charity; or
  • go door to door collecting goods (that you plan to sell at a later date) for charity.

Exemptions

Some national charities gain exemption from the Cabinet Office, and do not need a House to House Collection Permit.  They only need to notify us of the dates and places they are collecting.  To see if your charity is on the list of exempt charities, please check the Cabinet Office's National Exemption Orders webpage.
