Bath & North East Somerset Council - Keeping your home

Keeping your home

Keeping Your Home

If you are at risk of losing your home, there is help available. A full range of support is available through the Council and other organisations.

Your first step if you are struggling to keep up rent or mortgage payments should be to contact your lender or landlord directly.

Your local Citizens Advice Bureau can provide advice on managing rent or mortgage payments, increasing your income, and other ways to avoid losing your home.

If you are facing eviction, repossession or homelessness and have not been able to resolve the situation with your landlord or mortgage lender, contact the Council’s Housing Options & Homelessness Team. The team can advise you on the Government’s new Mortgage Rescue Scheme as well as schemes to help you access private rental homes. It can also advise on Homesearch which is a one-stop service to help you find social housing within the area.
