NEWS RELEASE
September 1st 1999
Early autumn road works programme confirmed
Details of early autumn road works have been confirmed by Bath & North East Somerset Councils Engineering Consultancy.
Roads across the district will be affected, some by temporary closures and diversions, but project engineer Konrad Lansdown stresses that every effort is being made to minimise disruption and inconvenience to road users.
"Contractors will be carrying out essential carriageway surface dressing work," he said. "The progress of the work will depend to some extent on the weather and while we hope we will be able to stick to the scheduled dates, they may be subject to some revision.
"At locations where temporary road closures are to be implemented in order to accommodate the work, temporary traffic diversions will be in place."
The work is due to start before the end of this week and will involve the temporary closure of Longwood Lane, Saltford, the C459 between Marksbury and Priston and the C460 between Farmborough and Priston. Work will also be carried out along Claverton Down Road and Norwood Avenue, Bath, the A3062 Ralph Allen Drive, Bath, the A39 Wells Road west of Corston and Grange Road, Saltford.
Scheduled for next week (week beginning September 6th) is work along Marsh Lane and Harts Lane, Hallatrow, Clandown Road, Water Lane and Pows Hill, Clandown and Weekesley Lane and Radford Hill, Radford, all of which will involve temporary road closures. Work is also scheduled to take place along Bath Road, Paulton.
The A4175 Station Road, Keynsham, is on the list for the week beginning September 13th.
