Free computer training from B&NES

Free IT training at work for up to 8 members of staff.

That’s the offer from B&NES Training Services as part of the new government

initiative, IT@Work.

A professional consultant will be able to come into the office and teach up to ten and a

half-hours of basic IT training. If the company doesn't have enough spare space the

training can be done at Training Services in Queens Square, Bath.

"The whole project is aimed at small to medium sized businesses - i.e. those that employ

anything from 2 to 250 people. It's a unique opportunity for a business to develop the

necessary IT skills to meet the demands of the technology revolution that is going on

around us," said Lindsey Huchrak, one of the training consultants. "We expect to be

inundated with requests for training as it is a such a good, genuine offer."

The training can cover topics such as Internet awareness and email, Microsoft Office,

Word Processing, Excel for spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and Basic Windows

application (i.e. file management skills). There is a £10 registration fee for each person,

but all training is delivered free of charge.
