NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release PR 6 3 October 2000 Free computer training from B&NES Free IT training at work for up to 8 members of staff.
That’s the offer from B&NES Training Services as part of the new government initiative, IT@Work.
A professional consultant will be able to come into the office and teach up to ten and a half-hours of basic IT training. If the company doesn't have enough spare space the training can be done at Training Services in Queens Square, Bath.
"The whole project is aimed at small to medium sized businesses - i.e. those that employ anything from 2 to 250 people. It's a unique opportunity for a business to develop the necessary IT skills to meet the demands of the technology revolution that is going on around us," said Lindsey Huchrak, one of the training consultants. "We expect to be inundated with requests for training as it is a such a good, genuine offer."
The training can cover topics such as Internet awareness and email, Microsoft Office, Word Processing, Excel for spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and Basic Windows application (i.e. file management skills). There is a £10 registration fee for each person, but all training is delivered free of charge.
