Environment Agency Environmental Permits - A1 Processes

For a list of Part A installations that are regulated by the Environment Agency within the Bath and North East Somerset Council boundary, please visit the Environment Agency’s Public Register page.  This enables you to search for premises that may have an environmental impact under one of the following options:

Hazardous Waste, Environmental Permits (IPPC), Environmental Permits (WML), Water Quality and Pollution Control, Radioactive Substances Information, Agricultural Waste Exemptions, Simple Exemptions, Waste Broker and Waste Carrier.

You can also search by Post Code, Town, Permit Holder Name, Licence Number and by Local Authority, such as Bath & North East Somerset Council.

Local Authority Environmental Permits - A2 Processes

Bath and North East Somerset Council has made a final decision as the regulator upon the application from the company known as Glenavon Timber Treatment Ltd for a permit to operate a Wood Products Preservation with Chemicals activity at the following installation: Glenavon Timber Treatment Ltd, Ashmead Road, Ashmead Industrial Park, Keynsham, Bristol BS31 1SX.

The Council received 1 representation from the public during the 20 working day period of consultation upon the draft determination from 1st June 2015 to 29th June 2015. The Council has decided to issue a permit to the operator. Conditions have been inserted as representing the Council's judgement of what constitutes BAT, having regard to the sector guidance issued by SEPA and to all site specific conditions. The details of this decision and the representation are available to view on the public register free of charge, held at Bath and North East Somerset Council, Lewis House, Manvers Street, Bath BA1 1JG, and can be viewed Monday to Thursday between the hours of 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm.

Waste Framework Directive Local Authorty Register of Exempt Activities 

Waste Management Licence Exemptions are for Part B activities that meet the regeneral requirements of Regulation 17 of the WML Regualtions and the specific conditions for the activity laid down in Schedule 3 to the WMLR. The local authority is the registering aurthority for T3 and T7 waste activities.

T3 is for the treatment of waste metals and metal alloys by heating for the purpose of removing grease.

T7 is the treatment of waste bricks, tiles and concrete by crushing, grinding or reduction in size.
