In this modern world we are surrounded by tech. Tech to wear, tech to watch, tech to talk to, tech to absorb - the market seems completely saturated with all kinds of technology. No longer do we expect to find things in the world, we expect the world (and tech) to come to us. We are the blue dot generation.
What is the blue dot I hear you ask? It is the one on google maps, which you press in order for the world to find you. You no longer use maps to locate yourself in the world, you expect the 'blue dot' to appear and find you.
This means that users expect a ‘blue dot’, a personalised experience in retail - so much so that they are put in the centre, they are this 'blue dot' and the world revolves around them.
Cue: technology that places the CONSUMER in the centre. Technology today MUST replicate this feeling and put users in the centre. In retail, users want this personal experience and it is through innovative technologies that we can achieve this.
