Do not attempt to drive through flood waters. A third of flood-related deaths in the UK involve people drowning in their cars.
Who to contact about different types of flooding
| Blocked highway gullies and drains | Report highway flooding and blocked gullies or drains to the Council via Council Connect. Watercourses are split into two categories: Main Rivers and Ordinary Watercourses. See the types of flooding page for an explanation. For Main River flooding Contact the Environment Agency 24 hour incident hotline: 0345 988 1188. For Ordinary Watercourse flooding Report the incident to the Council via Council Connect. You can also complete an online Drainage and Flooding form |

Internal property flooding
If you have been flooded, it's important the Council knows as we may need to carry out a formal investigation. If you or your community need to report a flooding incident that has led to property flooding please fill in a Property Flooding Report Form and email to the Drainage and Flooding team.
