Reading Groups
Read Around Bath - Would you enjoy reading aloud to a group of elderly people in a care home/day centre? You would accompany another volunteer and share a few poems, extracts from novels, short stories, nostalgia pieces. They really appreciate it as some get very few visitors, and they enjoy the mental stimulus. At the moment the care homes we visit are in Bath, Midsomer Norton, and Keynsham but you could set one up in your own locality with our support.
Reading Groups in libraries - Not currently recruiting Do you enjoy talking about the books you read? Lots of people do, so we have several reading groups meeting at different times in different libraries. Anybody can join, including people with disabilities. We need well-organised volunteers to run one or more reading groups, so more people can take part. We will help you to get started.
