Privately Rented Housing is now advertised on the
Homesearch website For Owner-Occupiers & Leaseholders:
- We can offer financial assistance and support to enable elderly, disabled and otherwise vulnerable residents to undertake essential works of repairs, adaptations and security improvements to their homes
- We can offer financial assistance and advice on energy efficiency improvements and home security.
- We can offer advice and assistance on Radon gas within the home

For Tenants:
- We offer general housing advice and assistance relating to security of tenure, prevention of homelessness and housing conditions
- We can offer grants for disabled adaptations, and in certain cases for private tenants, financial assistance for essential repairs.
- We will investigate complaints about housing conditions and take action to remedy serious housing health and safety hazards
- We can enforce fire safety, health and safety and amenity standards within houses and flats including houses in multiple occupation
- We can give you details of the Council’s Property Accreditation Scheme
For Landlords:

For Homeless people within our area:
- We can offer advice and assistance on how to find accommodation
- We can provide temporary accommodation for homeless people who have children or other priority need
