Information for Children and Families
One Big Database is a central database which brings together information about services for children and their families.
Do you Struggle to read the information leaflets that accompany your medication?
Royal National Institute of Blind People's (RNIB's) X-PIL service is a new automated system, which allows you to listen to Patient Information Leaflets (PILS) over the telephone, and should you wish, also order a copy in either braille, large print or audi CD format. Delivery is usually within just a few working days. PILS can also be viewed on the internet at xpil.medicines.org.uk
You, or your pharmacist, simply need to call RNIB's Medicine Information Line on 0800 198 5000 and say the PL (Product Licence) number from the leaflet of the medication concerned. Alternatively, if you have internet access you can visit the X-PIL website www.xpil.medicines.org.uk (hosted by Datapharm Communications Ltd) where you can view the leaflet information online. You can also do a search by product name, which will provide you with the PL number
