Children’s services - how we are doing

We want all children and young people in Bath and North East Somerset to

Be Healthy, Stay Safe, Enjoy and Achieve, Make a Positive Contribution and Achieve Economic Wellbeing.

It is important that everyone knows how well children’s services are achieving that ambition. This is why regular performance reports and inspections are valuable ways of celebrating what we are doing that is working well and helping us to further develop our services where more improvement is needed.

Setting targets for performance and measuring how we are doing in meeting these targets is helpful. However, as important, if not more so, is being able to measure the quality of the work of children’s services in supporting children and families in Bath and North East Somerset.

Alongside learning from the messages about quality which come from inspection reports, we are constantly looking to improve the ways in which we can demonstrate whether, and how, what we are doing is making a real difference to the lives of children and young people because Every Child Matters.
