The historic environment has an impact on everybody. It provides the backdrop to our daily lives, especially in a district like Bath & North East Somerset where we have such a rich and diverse historic and natural environment. It forms a large part of our community identity and is a unique and irreplaceable resource.
The World Heritage Site Management Plan provides the opportunity to help local people explore their World Heritage Site. It can be used for education in the classroom, for community projects to find out more about where you live, or to improve how a place looks and functions.

The Council is working in partnership with the Bath Preservation Trust to develop a free World Heritage Education Resource Pack for local schools. This is currently being developed and and trialled and will be launched in 2009. The Bath Preservation Trust is also working with local secondary schools to develop citizenship resources in relation to world heritage.
