Why recycling is important
Recycling means that we don't throw so much waste into landfill sites. Waste that goes into landfill sites causes pollution as it rots down and we are rapidly running out of sites to dump our waste.
Recycling saves energy and resources that would otherwise be lost if they were just thrown away. The materials we collect can be made into many different products - the possibilities are endless.
It is becoming increasingly expensive to throw our waste into landfill sites. Recycling our waste will help to keep costs down and that's good news for our Council Tax.
