Bulky waste collection service
The Council offers a bulky domestic waste collection service for the removal of bulky items from outside your home that are not collected through the weekly service. Please note this service includes the collection of fridges and freezers.
The service has been created to help people who cannot take for example the larger items of furniture, household & garden equipment, and fridges to the Recycling Centres.
This collection service is chargeable and your items will be collected on the next available collection day. We will inform residents of the day of collection when payment is made.
We will collect items from one collection point from outside your home, preferably the front, anytime from 8.00am. Unfortunately we are not able to specify a time period during your collection day.
We will collect reusable items from inside your house (which we will then pass on to the SOFA project for repair and reuse) provided they are easily accessible.
If an item is reusable and in good condition, you may wish to contact either of the charities mentioned below who may be able to offer you a free collection. See Charity Donations listed below.
Please note that smaller items must be contained within sacks or boxes as far as is reasonably possible.
