Introduction
The Council is proposing some minor and significant changes to the draft Core Strategy. These arose from consideration of comments on the draft Core Strategy and responding to the Inspector’s preliminary comments and questions. The Council consulted on these changes between 19th September and 21st October 2011.

Significant Proposed Changes to the Draft Core Strategy
At its meeting on 15th September 2011 the Council agreed to publish a Schedule of Significant Proposed Changes (PDF - 1.66Mb) for comment between 19th September and 21st October 2011. Representations received during the consultation period have been forwarded to the Inspector and considered alongside representations previously submitted on the Draft Core Strategy. The representations can be viewed below.
The Inspector also asked for comments on the potential implications of the Government's recently published draft National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) (external link) on the soundness of the Core Strategy. The Council identified potential further changes which would be required to the Core Strategy should the NPPF be finalised by Government before the examination ends. These are set out in a Schedule of Potential Changes arising from the Draft NPPF. The representations made during the consultation above can be viewed below.
Any new evidence produced since the Core Strategy was submitted is identified on the Core Documents List.
The Examination Hearings are now scheduled to commence week beginning 16th January 2012. If the Core Strategy is found sound, the Inspector will issue a binding report. Click here to read the latest information about the Core Strategy Examination Hearings.
