Householder Applications
Applications for extensions to houses or bungalows or for domestic garages or other development in the garden of a house (but not flats) may be submitted on the special simplified application form. The standard form should be used for all other applications for planning permission. Guidance on whether you need planning permission or whether your proposal may be permitted development is also available on the website.
Full Planning Permission Applications
The standard form should be used for all other applications for full planning permission, e.g. erection of a new dwelling.
Listed Building Consent
This form should be used for alterations to a Listed Building (including external or internal alterations, demolition or partial demolition). You can use the link on this page to Listed Buildings for further information and advice.
Conservation Area Consent
This form should be used for demolition or partial demolition of most unlisted buildings (including outbuildings, boundary walls, gates and fences) situated inside a Conservation Area. You can use the link on this page to Conservation Areas for further information and advice.
Advertisement Consent
This form should be used for the erection or display of a sign, fascia sign, notice or advertisement.
Outline Permission Applications
Applications for outline permission do not need as much detail as full applications but must still include information on use, the amount of development, indicative layout, scale parameters and indicative access points. Matters such as access, appearance, landscaping, layout and scale can be approved at a later stage by a reserved matters application.
Reserved Matters
Applications to approve matters reserved from outline applications, i.e. access, appearance, landscaping, layout and scale. The proposal must be consistent with the outline permission.
Certificates of Lawful Use
Approval of Details Reserved by Condition
Use this form to apply for approval that conditions imposed by a planning permission have been discharged/complied with. There is a fee for this application.
Removal or Variation of a Planning Condition
Use this form to remove or vary conditions imposed by a planning permission.

Non-material amendment to a planning permission
Only planning permissions can be amended using this form. The form and guidance note are only available as a downloadable paper copy.
Extension of Time Limit for existing planning permission
Use this form to extend the life of existing planning permissions (and any associated listed building or conservation area consent). The form and guidance note are only available as a downloadable paper copy.
Mineral Development
This form should be used for applications for permission to carry out mineral working and for development involving waste disposal, waste treatment and recycling. Available from here.

Ownership Certificate 'Notices' -
The Ownership Certificate Notice 1 and Notice 2 (if applicable) can be accessed on the Planning Portal.
Hardcopies can also be obtained by phoning the Planning Registration Team on 01225 394174.
For major applications submitted online - please complete the form online and post/deliver a minimum of 2 sets of all the application documentation to Planning Services. Extra copies may be requested for certain applications. In addition, copies of the application documentation should be supplied on CD disc to enable electronic processing. Individual files must not exceed 5Mb in size when submitting documents on CD. The application will be registered when these requirements are fulfilled.
