Bath & North East Somerset Council believes that playtime is an important part of a child's development. We are committed to providing areas, facilities & support that promotes lifelong learning, fitness & helps to make Bath & North East Somerset a better place to work, live & visit.

There are numerous playgrounds & play areas in our area. These are maintained by various bodies, including Parish & Town Councils and the Somer Community Housing Trust (full list will be available soon). Bath & North East Somerset Council is responsible for maintaining 47 facilities, and these are listed below. We aim to provide well equipped, safe and clean sites so that children can play in safety.
We have embarked on a fully planned, on-going replacement programme. The refurbishment is carried out with the benefit of feedback from our residents and visitors (before a site is due for refurbishment, we consult with many people - local residents, users, equalities people amongst others - and we use this information to get better facilities).
