The national cleanliness standard (NI195) was removed during 2010 and the Council is exploring an alternative way of measuring cleanliness standards. However, up until the removal of the indicator inspections were indicating that the Council would meet this target.

Ensure trees are managed with reasonable care by completing the required annual number of inspections in tree programme (target 100%)
100% of tree inspections in schools have been completed. Overall, 48% of all trees in B&NES have been inspected. The reduction is due to staff changes and will be addressed by an imminent recruitment process. In 2011 the inspection programme will be assessed by age and condition of tree, rather than location; trees in schools will be continued to be inspected on an annual basis.
