Writhlington School Opens
Bath & North East Somerset Council’s new topclass facilities at Writhlington Business & Enterprise School near Radstock were officially opened by His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent on 25th May 2010.
New technologies have been utilised throughout the school which allow students to ‘hand-in’ work on-line and receive instant feedback from teachers when they are not in the classroom. The pupils aged between 11 and 18 can complete homework by connecting to the school servers from home and view information from the day’s lessons.
The final touch will be Writhlington’s £3.5 million Applied Learning Centre for diploma students aged 14-19, due for completion in January 2011.
The Council received funding for Writhlington in 2007 from the national Building Schools for Future pathfinder programme.
