John Betty was appointed as Strategic Director of Development and Major Projects for Bath and North East Somerset in January 2005.
John is responsible for delivery of the Council’s £300m Capital Programme, including projects such as the stabilisation of Combe Down Stone Mines, the completion of the Spa Project, the Bath Western Riverside development and the Building Schools for the Future Programme.
In addition, the Development and Major Projects Directorate is responsible for the Council’s Regeneration and Growth Strategy. John is promoting this strategy which, through the Future for Bath & North East Somerset initiative, sets out a vision, promotes research and identifies opportunities for delivery through active participation of the public and private sectors.
Derek Quilter was appointed as Divisional Director of Project Management for Bath and North East Somerset in February 2008.
Derek is responsible for delivery of the Council’s £300m Capital Programme, including projects such Schools Capital Programme, Combe Down Stone Mines stabilisation project and Infrastructure projects such as the Public Realm investment programme and Bath Package.
