“We want all Children and Young People to do better in life than they ever thought they could. We will give children and young people the help that they need to do this.” - Our vision.
We are responsible for a wide range of services for children, young people, their families and schools across Bath and North East Somerset, including education for all ages, social care, youth support, education welfare, children’s centres, extended services, special educational needs and children with disabilities. We have a special responsibility for children and young people in care and those at risk.
- We also plan and commission children's health services on behalf of the NHS, including school nurses, health visitors and mental health services.
- We want the best for every child and young person, to help them to stay safe, be healthy, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic well-being.
There are currently over 36,000 children and young people in our area, and we can only achieve our vision by working closely with other organisations in the statutory, voluntary, community and faith sectors who also support children and young people and their families.
