You are entitled to apply to register for eligibilty for free school meals for your child(ren) if you are receiving one of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
- Income Related Employment and Support Allowance
- Child Tax Credit, without any Working Tax Credit, and an annual household income (as assessed by Her Majesty's Revenues and Customs) that is not more than £16,190
- Guarantee Element of State Pension Credit
- Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
If you wish to apply to register your eligibilty for free school meals, and your child(ren) go to a Bath and North East Somerset school, either call the Free School Meals helpline and request an application form or download the application form (found in the box on the right hand side of this page), this can be printed off and send it in by post or scanned and emailed to the email below. If any of your children attend an Academy that does not use Bath & North East Somerset Council's Free School Meal Eligibility checking service please make your claim for that child direct to the Academy.

Registering your child for free school meals attracts additional funding which includes Pupil Premium and may qualify your child for additional financial support for other activities eg School Trips (Please ask you child school about this).
Although it is recommended that your child eats the school meal claimed, this is optional and you should register for eligibility whether or not your child wants a meal. Please click on the Weblink for more information about Pupil Premium funding for your child.
