Performance management is an integral part of service improvement that allows actions to be taken in response to actual performance measured by the council and other partner organisations.
The Council has a set of key plans that explain what the Council, along with its partners, plan to achieve for the community in the coming years.

The Council’s Corporate Planning Process brings its key plans together in a clear hierarchy that shows the relationship between the long term future for the area, the vision for the Council and the mid-term plan of action; the plan for the Council's finances, all the way down to what each Council service plans to achieve in the next year.
► External Inspections
Bath & North East Somerset Council as a public organisation is subject to a range of scrutiny and assessment activities through external inspections in the interests of probity and value for money.

Performance intelligence is having the capacity to access, analyse, share and report on a wide variety of information in a prompt and readily understandable manner.
