Elections

Bath & North East Somerset Council runs UK Parliament and European Parliament elections, district council and parish council elections.

UK parliamentary elections can be called at any time within five years of the previous general election. The last election was held on Thursday 6 May 2010. 

Elections for the European Parliament take place once every five years. The last election was held on Thursday 4 June 2009.

Local government elections, including district council and parish council elections, take place once every four years. The last elections were held on Thursday 5 May 2011, with all 65 Council seats up for election across our 37 wards. Some parish and town councils throughout the district held their elections on the same day. On Thursday 5 May 2011 there was also a referendum on the voting system used to elect MPs to the House of Commons.
