Lansdown park and ride

Bath is embarking on the next stage of its development legacy with the recent adoption of the Bath Riverside Masterplan. Key to its success will be effective connectivity and access. The existing Park and Ride sites are very popular with the public and have recently been expanded. But people from the east have limited choices about where to park and face long queues, especially along London Road. The importance of a site in this area was also recognised in the ‘Getting Around Bath Transport Strategy’ which was formally adopted by Bath and North East Somerset Council on Thursday 13 November 2014.

Bath & North East Somerset has a long established policy of developing a new Park and Ride to the east of Bath to improve access from that side of town and further reduce traffic into the centre. An independent review carried out in 2013 evaluated eight potential locations, from this it found that there are three suitable sites which match desirable criteria. No preference exists at this stage.

The three sites for consultation are:

  • Land east of A4/A46 junction
  • Land west of Mill Lane
  • Land east of Mill Lane

At the end of the consultation period, the results will be put before Council members in November. Further news on the outcome of the consultation and the next steps will be added to this page when available.
