The Bath and North East Somerset Environmental Sustainability Partnership (ESP) is committed to tackling climate change, and increasing the use of sustainable energy. The Bath & North East Somerset Core Strategy sets the target of installing 275MW of renewable energy by 2029, and this Community Energy Strategy will set a framework for meeting this target whilst fulfilling other aims such as the provision of lower cost energy, local economic benefits and community involvement.

Please note: The draft Community Energy Strategy is focused on sustainable (renewable and low carbon) energy provision. Energy efficiency and reducing energy use is also a priority for the ESP, with the current focus being our flagship Energy@Home scheme.
