Hold information on local volunteering opportunities.  Some run projects especially for young people. Can be found in the yellow pages under ‘charitable & voluntary organisations’ or search online.

www.do-it.org.uk – a national database of volunteering opportunities for people of all ages hosted by online charity YouthNet.

 

www.worldwidevolunteering.org.uk – an online database enabling volunteers to match their particular requirements.  Will carry out searches for those without internet access.

 National Youth Organisations

These organisations are primarily resource and development agencies.  They do not place volunteers but can direct you to appropriate local or national organisations.

Supports those involved in young people’s personal and social development, and works to enable all young people to fulfill their potential.  Publishes Youth Action magazine and other resources supporting young people taking action in their communities.

Represents the views of young people aged 16 to 25 in the UK.  Can provide information on developing youth councils or forums.
