Off The Record is a free and confidential information and advice service for young people aged 12-25 living in Bath and North East Somerset. Call the Freephone Helpline on 0800 3895551.
Off The Record provides a freephone helpline service as well as being open for drop-in with offices in Bath, Midsomer Norton and Keynsham. Off The Record also runs a specialist Advocacy and After-care Project, a Young Carers' Project and a Young Parents' Project.
Off The Record was set up 10 years ago in partnership with the Local Authority’s Youth Service who have core funded the project each year since then to provide a confidential information, advice and counselling service for young people in Bath & North East Somerset.
Off The Record sees approximately 5000 young people each year for information and 500 young people for counselling. Staff and volunteers work with young people throughout the authority including Bath, Keynsham and Midsomer Norton and uses youth centres and schools to provide a range of information, advice and counselling.
The organisation works in partnership with a number of agencies to give information and support and acts as a referral agency for dealing with young people’s issues.
Off The Record also works with schools to provide an anti-bullying service for young people and provides an advocacy service for looked-after young people in partnership with Social Services.
There is a also a Youth Action Group operating within Off The Record, who act as a consultative group for the organisation, and participants are offered training and support to become peer counsellors.
