Bath & North East Somerset Council - Curriculum Resources

Curriculum Resources

Young people have the right to engage in ‘quality’ youth work and the curriculum provides the framework for planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of ‘quality’ youth work programmes.

Our curriculum and planning framework helps youth workers to understand and describe what youth work is, why we do it, how we do it and what young people can gain from our work.  It provides us with all that we need to develop our work so that we can identify what young people need, structure our work to meet this need. It enables us to encourage young people to try new things, and develop new skills, make informed decisions and choices and be acknowledged and accredited for their achievements.

  • Safe from Bullying includes guidance for local authorities and other strategic leaders. The guidance documents are supported by a set of Training Resources.

The Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) has been contracted to deliver a programme of national and regional work to raise awareness, develop confidence and stimulate use of the Guidance to develop strategic anti-bullying practice among relevant organisations and practitioners within local authorities and the six community settings. ABA national and regional staff will organize regional conferences over the next year and will need the names and contact details of all the Local Authority Youth leads in the statutory and voluntary sectors to include them in any ABA up-dates and to ensure that they can access information on the conferences.

For more information, and to order free hardcopies or to download copies of the guidance, please visit the Every Child Matters website: http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/everychildmatters/research/
