A certificate relating to a Birth, Death or Marriage that occurred in Bath and North East Somerset since July 1837 may be obtained from this office. All the indexes can be found on the BathBMD website. We would aim to process the application within two days of receiving it. Please give us a daytime telephone number, and a stamped self-addressed envelope, (please note that certificates are A4 size). The fee is £10 and cheques should be made payable to "Superintendent Registrar".
*IMPORTANT INFORMATION: due to essential works our certificate production service will be suspended from the 22nd June 2012 until the 9th July 2012. Applications made during this time will be held until the service resumes on the 9th July.

These cost £7.00/£12.00* You would need to supply the following information. The Register Office, Church/Chapel or Approved Premises in which the marriage took place; the date of the marriage and the full names and surnames of the parties married and any names they had used previously.
The Register Office can only issue certificates for marriages that took place in a church or chapel once the register is complete and handed in to the Superintendent Registrar; if the register is still in use you will need to apply to the Vicar/Minister.
*Once a register is deposited into the custody of the Superintendent Registrar the certificate will be £10 and the application will be subject to a £2 administration fee making the total payable £12.
If you wish to avoid paying the administration fee you can come and apply in person. You will be asked to fill out a form and will need to supply a stamped addressed envelope if you wish us to post the certificate on to you.
