A Message from the Divisional Director - David Trethewey

Policy and Partnerships is a service focused on delivering better outcomes for the community by facilitating, leading and enabling work on partnerships; the sustainable community strategy; the local area agreement; equalities; sustainability; community safety and drugs; local partnerships; relationships with the voluntary sector; and developing the Council's corporate plan.

As such we both deliver services but also help facilitate partnerships and develop policies in order to help others deliver improved outcomes for the community.

In this way we are central to the whole agenda of partnership working and the developing relationships between the public, private and voluntary sectors. We also work at all levels from working locally with residents to improve an aspect of their lives through to negotiating at a national, regional or sub regional level on behalf of the Council and its partners.
